Tech Ed air-quality testing found dust levels below applicable limits, district says

District staff reported that July sampling in the Tech Ed lab measured inhalable, respirable and total dust below applicable OSHA, NIOSH and ACGIH limits; safety protocols and masking will continue during woodcutting activities.
Lisa, the district principal reporting for the meeting, said a July air-quality assessment of the Tech Ed space showed dust measurements were within accepted limits. "The laboratory results...were all below the applicable OSHA, NIOSH and ACGIH limits," Lisa said, noting the sampling simulated roughly 120 minutes of woodcutting to mirror typical class activities.
The principal said staff followed established safety protocols during sampling, and that Tech Ed instructor Scott Maynard will continue to enforce masks and other protective measures in class. She added the district will maintain routine safety practices and monitor conditions.
The report also thanked community volunteers and Kohler School Friends for supporting school events. The board did not take formal action on the testing report during the meeting; staff said they will continue safety routines and follow up as needed.
