A staff member told the board the district’s compensation model (adopted in 2022) has not been adjusted for recent inflation and said the district should reconvene a committee to review and revise the model for 2026–27.
As an interim step, the presenter recommended a 2.95% increase for all staff for 2025–26 and proposed giving every employee a $1,500 one‑time payment next year while a longer compensation study proceeds. ‘‘I’m also recommending that we make an amendment to our current compensation… So the recommendation that I'm making is that I'm making a 2.95% increase for all staff, and I'm making a recommendation of that based off the median income… in the meantime, I wanna make it equitable and give everybody $1,500 across the board for next year,’’ the staff member said.
The presenter noted continued eligibility for performance incentive bonuses: this year about 10 staff were eligible and those who meet the summative performance rating and submit a 'presentation of pride' will receive $2,000 retention bonuses by June 30, 2025; presentations are due June 15.
Next steps: the board will consider forming the compensation committee and the interim pay recommendations; the transcript excerpt does not include a formal vote on the pay recommendations.
