Administrators outlined that each of the four core goal areas will each count for 25% of the overall report card and that top indicators under those goals include Gallup employee engagement (40% within one goal), competitive salary metrics, attendance and AIMSweb growth, school safety assessments and student-reported safety, and family engagement measures such as spring conference participation. "A KPI ... is a measure of how effectively our district is achieving its objectives," Dr. Villalobos said, and staff plan to develop rubrics to define each metric and what constitutes a significant change.
The board discussed weighting choices, the need to clarify rubrics and definitions (for example, what 'significant' means), and agreed the framework will support transparency and data-driven decisions. Board members urged attention to increasing spring conference participation and to using the KPI framework to monitor and improve areas such as open enrollment and staff retention.
The KPI framework was adopted by roll call; administrators said they will correct minor typographical issues in the documents but will not change substantive meaning and will return defined rubrics and thresholds for board review.
