Clean Energy Advisory Committee reports geothermal, net-zero pathway work and a solar dashboard in development

Kale, presenting for the Clean Energy Advisory Committee, told the board the committee met June 10 and reviewed several items supporting the district's clean-energy goals. He said a community survey closed June 13 and will be discussed at the committee's July meeting, and that the committee scheduled and held site visits to Star Elementary to observe geothermal well drilling.

Kale also summarized a grant-funded net-zero pathways presentation prepared by Jenny Breaker covering six schools; committee members and McKinstry representatives have reviewed overlapping pathway planning. Staff said McKinstry is finalizing a pathway and building a dashboard to show live data from solar projects so the district can "see live information" on steps already taken and options under consideration.

Board members thanked the committee and noted steady progress since the plan's initial presentation; staff said the next Clean Energy Advisory Committee meeting is scheduled for July 8 and that posted materials (presentations) will be made available.
