The Fall River School District board approved alternative‑education diplomas for two students and a placement plan to send them to the HSED (High School Equivalency Diploma) program at Moraine Park.
Administration described the program structure and costs for the board. "The current one is at 12 hours a week at $16.55 an hour... we would be charged $198.60 per student for the week," an administrator said when reviewing the billing and fee structure. Staff said Moraine Park bills weekly based on student attendance and that additional testing fees (GED exam fees, proctor fees) apply.
Administrators said the program runs two days a week (9 a.m.–2 p.m.) and includes a supervised work experience component; the district would provide transportation. Staff estimated completion for motivated students could take as little as 4–12 weeks, and that the students would remain Fall River students with grades reported back to the district. Board members voted to approve the diplomas and placements by voice vote.
The motion authorizes the district to submit applications and arrange transportation and billing with Moraine Park; staff said placements could start as soon as the following week depending on application turnaround.
