The athletic director cautioned that free admission could be misused as de facto free daycare and recommended an adult requirement when younger children attend.
Board members discussed logistics—ticket-taker workflows, color-coded passes and whether activity fees for middle-school participants should automatically provide access. Trustees said they prefer simple options that are easy for ticket staff to administer and avoid multiple pass types during a single year. Several trustees expressed support for a student season pass and adult season options rather than many single-sport passes.
Outcome: the board did not adopt a new policy at the meeting but directed staff to return in August with two or three streamlined options (for example: elementary free-with-adult pilot, a middle-school student season pass and adult season/annual passes) and estimated price points and operational plans.
