Columbus School District board approves monitoring reports, course proposals and open enrollment for 2026–27

The Columbus School District board approved a bundle of routine oversight items at its Jan. 26 meeting, including personnel and financial monitoring reports, academic and life-readiness monitoring, course proposals and open-enrollment seats for 2026–27.

A motion to approve the OE-4 personnel administration monitoring report as compliant was moved and seconded and carried by voice vote. The meeting record notes a first from Corey Olson Raffy and a second from John Pearson for that motion.

The board next approved the OE-6 financial administration monitoring report after administration recommended it be found in compliance. The motion was moved and seconded and the board recorded the vote in favor.

Trustees approved the R-2 academic achievement monitoring report "as making reasonable progress with exceptions noted," with a motion and second from the floor. The R-3 life readiness results monitoring report was approved similarly as making reasonable progress with exceptions noted.

The board also approved Columbus Middle School course proposals and accepted presented open-enrollment seats for 2026–27. Each of these approvals was moved, seconded and passed with no recorded dissent.

The superintendent's consent agenda (academic calendar, graduation requests, human-resources items) and the board consent agenda (donations list, December bills, and Dec. 8 minutes) were both approved by voice vote.
