Public Works announcements: groundbreaking, May fair and $10 million water-plant renovation headed to council

Mister Bender told the committee the city bid its water-plant renovation and the low bid resulted in a $10,000,000 project that "that contract will be going to the city council, next week at their meeting." He said the renovation will replace the RO system and chemical-feed systems at a plant that is 23 years old. Bender also listed the Public Works Fair scheduled for May 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ozzie Sports Park on Tier Hughes Boulevard and said the recording secretary Julie will return in June.
Councilman Costello, speaking to committee members and attendees, thanked citizens for voting in a recent election and said he will continue to be available to the committee even if reassignments occur. The committee then moved to adjourn and approved the motion by voice vote.
