The Stillwater Planning Commission voted unanimously to accept staff findings and recommend City Council approve the final plat for the Stillwater High School addition, SUB25-12, at 410 West Franklin Avenue.
Henry Bibelheimer of Development Services told commissioners the property (zoned P for public) includes two lots and two outlots and sits north of the existing high school. Bibelheimer showed aerial and street views and said construction is underway.
Commissioners asked why the plat came late in construction. David Barth, the city’s development services director, said final plats are not accepted until public improvements — such as water and sewer lines, manholes and hydrant work — are complete and ready for acceptance, which in this case occurred only recently.
Staff recommended the commission accept findings and recommend City Council approve the final plat. Commissioner (S5) moved to accept the findings; the motion was seconded and passed 5-0.
The commission’s action forwards the plat to City Council with a positive recommendation; the council will make the final decision.
