Taylor County Board elects Melissa Garvin president, selects Gallo as vice president

S4 announced the result: “It is 3 to 2 that Miss Garvin will be the board president,” and Garvin accepted the nomination. The board then accepted nominations for vice president and recorded a vote in favor of Miss Gallo; members agreed to swear her in at the next meeting because she was not physically present to take the oath.
No formal motions amending policy or allocating funds were recorded in the organizational portion of the meeting; the board moved on to the agenda’s 8000 series and solicited board member comments and discussion, signaling the transition to regular business.
