Board approves nearly $11,700 purchase for Grafton High music department

Music director Theresa Mayle presented quotes for four handheld microphones, four lapel microphones and riser stairs to replace worn wooden steps used in performances. She told the board the combined price for the microphones after vendor adjustments was $4,867.41 and the total package, if all items were purchased, would be about $11,698.99. Mayle noted repeated microphone failures during performances and safety incidents from improvised wooden steps.
Trustee Missus Knotts moved that the board consider purchasing the requested items; Mister Taylor seconded the motion. After a voice vote, the chair announced the motion passed 4–0. Mayle thanked the board for their consideration. "Thank you all very much for your consideration and your continued support of our arts department in Taylor County," she said.
The approved purchase will be processed through the district’s procurement and finance offices, and the music department will receive the equipment for upcoming performances and productions.
