Porter said the work includes resurfacing and realigning the tract and pointed to recent on-site improvements. He asked the public to avoid the area during finishing work and said the surface will be lined after the curing process.
"Please don't use it yet, though. We're in the curing process, and then it will be lined," Porter said.
A completion date for the project was not specified by the superintendent.
