Pendleton County Schools board accepts resignations and approves new hires and substitutes

The Pendleton County Schools Board accepted three resignations and approved multiple hires and substitutes during its regular meeting.

Speaker 6 read three resignations for the district: Dave Eason, resigning as middle school girls basketball coach; Joshua Warner, resignation from a custodian position at Pendleton County Middle High School; and Martin Niley, resignation as assistant principal at Pendleton County Middle High School. Speaker 2 recommended the board accept the resignations; the motion was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.

The board then approved employment recommendations presented by speaker 6. The list approved included Ruth Wright (cook at Pendleton County Middle High School), Jennifer Cook (extracurricular coach at Pendleton County Middle High School), Catherine Moats (listed as substitute aide and substitute cook), Mary Weese (substitute custodian), Anna Rex Road (substitute teacher) and Anthony Tingler (contracted bus driver for North Fork Elementary School and Pendleton County Middle High School). Speaker 2 recommended approval and the motions passed by voice vote.

Separately, the board approved annual renewals for substitute service personnel and substitute administrators (Rick Lindenberg and John Jenkins) and approved volunteer chaperones for Franklin Elementary School and Pendleton County Middle High School. Those items were presented as routine annual renewals and were approved by voice votes.

The meeting record shows these personnel actions were routine approvals; no individual board member called for extended discussion on the hires or resignations at the time of the votes.

The board also noted there were no items under resignations beyond those read and no unpaid coaches or additional leaves of absence to report.
