Staff presented a financing proposal through Country Roads Leasing with semiannual payments at a stated interest rate of 6.12% and a total project amount reported in the packet as about $82,508 for the replacement of middle school lockers. The superintendent said the middle-school lockers are about 20–27 years old and recommended starting with the middle school before considering high school replacements.
A board member expressed frustration with past maintenance and incidents of damage, saying staff had convened meetings over discipline and that lockers had been vandalized. "If you thought I didn't do anything, just wait," the member recalled as a remark made in a staff meeting about locker damage, and urged replacement and better durability. The board approved the three-year lease arrangement by voice vote.
Implementation: staff will execute the cooperative contract and schedule replacement work, with some local donations (Pilgrim's Pride) reported to help offset costs.
