An IT/vendor presenter (speaker S9) told the board the system can be configured so that if one campus school goes into lockdown, connected schools on the same Canvas environment will lock down as well. The presenter also said, "we're also gonna demonstrate the facial recognition system that's available as well." Board members and staff discussed the many moving parts required to deploy the system, including vendors, the district IT department and maintenance staff.
The career center update also covered program recognition and an open house that hosted roughly 40 sponsors; staff reported ongoing construction with a contractor estimating completion around Dec. 22 and noted enrollment at the Career Center had dropped slightly to 365 participants.
