Superintendent previews homecoming events and to report state conference takeaways at next meeting

"We have homecoming. We have really tried to reignite the homecoming spirit," Doctor Minnie said, listing a bonfire Wednesday night, a pep rally, coronation, a homecoming dance and "a homecoming football game that we'll be broadcasting live... for all the people that can't attend." He said the district hopes to recognize Titan Legacy Fellowship participants during homecoming activities.
Doctor Minnie told the board he will attend the state superintendents' conference at the NASA building in Fairmont mid-week and expected to be out Wednesday through part of Friday. "I'll be able to make a report out when I get back... you've gonna have some data," he said, promising benchmarking and discipline data at the next meeting.
Board members discussed broadcast logistics and float-building locations; one member asked where floats were being built and the superintendent said volunteers and community members are helping at several locations. Parade timing was announced for 1:00 p.m. Friday. Board member comments included praise for staff who produce the district's live-streamed games. "I've never been prouder to be a Titan," one board member said, and the board noted a parent delegation had raised bullying concerns that the board said it would continue to address.
