District reports construction progress, elevator installation and $20,000 playground grant

District Administrator (speaker 6) briefed the board on ongoing facilities work: recent asphalt/site improvements performed by Badger Excavation and Mathy, a decision to reseal front parking lots rather than full replacement to extend life, and completion of exterior storefront doors at the elementary school. Administrator noted punch‑list work remains and that landscaping, native plantings and final cleanups will continue into the fall and spring.

On accessibility, the administrator said the correct elevator began installation 'tomorrow' and that the district expects the new elevator to be available within weeks. He described efforts to finish interior renovations and to move toward aluminum storefront doors across district buildings for improved durability in Wisconsin winters.

The district said it will schedule a community walkthrough of the TechEd wing in November and will announce dates when finalized.

Separately, the Early Learning Center director (speaker 1) reported 55 children enrolled, three more families expected in November, a 20‑family infant waiting list, and staffing adequate for current enrollment. The center received a $20,000 grant from Children's First Finance to use toward playground surfacing; other operating support includes monthly childcare grant funds from DCF noted in the update.
