Students describe new career interests after Western Technical College visit

Middle school counselor Elizabeth said the career day used pre‑event surveys to match students with career‑cluster presenters and noted students were encouraged to dress professionally; she praised student behavior and the collaborative regional effort.
Several students described how the experience introduced them to new options: one student said a technical college electrical program appealed to them after the visit, another said veterinary classes were unexpectedly engaging, and others reported interest in health‑care careers. Administrators also noted Montessori program enrollment windows and open houses for new families, and reviewed semester transitions and athletic participation levels.
The board thanked students and counselors; no formal action was taken on the career‑day items.
