In the personnel report the board approved hiring Kim Gensler as drama coach; Caden Scurlock as assistant drama coach; Michelle Brown as head junior-high girls basketball coach; Eric Schoenick as assistant junior-high girls basketball coach; and Kara Miller as junior-high girls basketball volunteer assistant coach. A motion to approve the personnel report was moved and seconded and carried by voice vote.
The board reviewed and approved the district’s 2024–25 annual goals covering teaching and learning (including co-teaching and authentic assessments), positive school culture and community connections (marketing and a community survey to inform facilities planning). "We will continue to embrace and develop individualized learning options for all students and educators," the administrator said while summarizing goals.
Routine approvals included acceptance of minutes from the Sept. 18 regular meeting, approval of check runs and payroll (total $1,015,190.77 for accounts payable and $352,319.49 for payroll items as listed in the packet), and setting the November meeting date for Nov. 20 at 6 p.m. at Sugar Camp School. The board also approved continuing current board salaries and authorized reimbursement of necessary expenses when members travel in performance of duties.
All items were approved by voice vote with no recorded opposing votes in the transcript.
