Board accepts class donation for high‑school band, sets holiday card contest and notes report‑card release

Separately, the board discussed a student holiday‑card contest: principals would submit the top three entries from each school, and the board would choose a winner; deadlines discussed included an October 18 submission deadline and an October 23 meeting for judging. The board moved to create the annual holiday card competition and approved it 5–0.
