Vermilion Local board approves donations, library‑trustee appointments and consent agenda

During the Feb. 9 meeting the Vermilion Local Board approved multiple community donations, appointed library trustees and approved the consent agenda.
Donations approved included $250 from Sharon Hike to SMS; $1,500 and other amounts from the Kiwanis Club of Vermilion for student trips and programs; $5,000 from the Sydney Froman Foundation for health and wellness; $750 from Northern Ohio Medical Specialists to the athletic fund; $4,500 from Grace's Kitchen for sensory and literacy; and a book vending machine plus $1,000 in books from the Kiwanis Club. The board moved and recorded a unanimous vote to accept the donations.
The board also approved library trustee appointments: Jacob Raffo was appointed to the vacated term ending 12/31/2027 and Julie Armstrong Sexton to the term ending 12/31/2029. The appointments passed on a 5–0 roll call.
Finally, the board approved the consent agenda items — including minutes of the Jan. 12 organizational and regular meeting, 2026–27 OHSAA high‑school membership, SoundStation's day trip to Ann Arbor on Feb. 20, indoor track participation and several employment and substitute contracts — with no items removed and a recorded vote of 5–0.
