A teacher introduced to the board as Krista recognized four students who scored at or near perfect on the state fourth-grade math test and described positive proficiency trends for the district.
Krista told the board that for fourth-grade math the district had a 71% passage rate compared with the state's 69% and the national rate of 68%. She said her building, Meadowbrook, had 17% of students in the advanced category and highlighted that three of the recognized students were from her homeroom. The board and audience members congratulated the students and indicated support for continued instructional focus post-COVID.
The recognition came during the public participation portion of the meeting and did not require board action.
