Regional development district outlines services and a planned career-center site in Crittenden

Corey Imer, representing the Northern Kentucky Area Development District, briefed the Grant County Fiscal Court on the district’s work across eight counties and highlighted plans to locate workforce services at a Crittenden site.
Imer described the agency’s divisions — aging and disabilities, local government services, community development and workforce development — and said the aging division fields more than 10,000 calls annually to an Aging and Disability Resource Center. "We were established in 1971 to provide comprehensive support for our communities," Imer said, and he described the agency as a "quasi governmental organization" created by state statute but not staffed by the state.
On workforce development, Imer said federal Department of Labor funds support Kentucky Career Centers in the region and the district runs programs to help people on K-TAP and SNAP into employment. He said the district is pursuing certification to place a career-center site in the DCBS office in Crittenden and hopes the site will be approved this summer, allowing weekly workshops and job-search assistance on-site.
Court members asked brief questions about the Crittenden location and expressed appreciation for the update. Imer left handouts and the district’s 2024 annual report for the court and noted that Judge Dils serves on the district board.
