Coldwater highlights fall events, Waterworks Park renovation and paving schedule

City Manager Keith Baker used the Aug. 26 meeting to outline fall events and public-works updates for Coldwater.
Baker listed near-term events including the final Hops on Monroe on Aug. 29, Petrol & Pints on Aug. 30, a public shredding day on Sept. 14 at Heritage Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Applefest on Sept. 21 (vendor count expected over 200), and Hoptoberfest on Sept. 27, which Baker said will be a 21-and-over, $5-cover event on South Monroe Street with a German band and food trucks.
On projects, Baker said work is underway at Waterworks Park — including asphalt removal, excavation, tree work, and a new parking lot, paved walking trail, youth soccer field and lighting — and that the city anticipates completion by October. He also outlined a milling and paving program beginning after Labor Day affecting North and South Willowbrook, Anderson Drive, North Drive, Fawn Run and Linn Court, plus work on South Sprague and Sauk River Drive that will cause traffic impacts on the city’s east side during September.
Baker noted city offices will be closed for Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 2 and will reopen Sept. 3.
The council approved receiving the report by motion.
