Miss Capp, the district’s head of professional development, told trustees that the district ran nearly 1,100 summer sessions serving roughly 19,000 participants and accounting for about 127,000 hours of training across staff, administrators and support personnel. Highlights included principal induction, Summer Academy (about 1,300 persons across 400 sessions), technology and AI integration sessions, and LETRS literacy training for early grades.
Miss Capp and other leaders described how the district connects summer learning to in-year instructional priorities via professional learning communities and principal instructional walks. She said the district is tracking implementation through observational feedback and benchmark assessments and noted that roughly 80–85% of staff will have completed a two‑year LETRS sequence by year’s end.
During the buildings-and-grounds portion of the meeting, Miss Middleton asked about Oak View Elementary’s roofing project; facilities staff said it is scheduled to be completed in late October and that a recent leak was repaired without materially affecting instruction.
On agenda item 5.02, the board moved and seconded to approve the proposed lease agreement renewal with SHARE Head Start; trustees voted by voice and the motion carried. No additional contractual details were discussed on the record during the meeting.
