The board approved eight overnight and out-of-state student trips after a staff presentation describing each itinerary.
Dr. Waitsmas presented the eight trips, which included yearbook students attending a CPSA convention in New York; three high schools attending an FFA science and equine camp in Cherry Grove; band and chorus travel to Orlando and Universal Studios; eighth-grade trips to Washington, D.C.; and other performance-related travel. A board member moved to accept the administration's recommendation and another member seconded; the motion passed by voice vote.
Separately, the board nominated and approved delegates and alternates for the South Carolina School Board Association delegate assembly in December, allocating the district's six votes among three delegates and naming alternates. The motion to nominate delegates and alternates was moved, seconded, and approved by voice vote.
Both items were routine governance actions and passed without recorded roll-call tallies on the transcript.
