He said overall enrollment decreased by 16 students compared with last year, but the district saw an elementary enrollment increase of 38 students and 84 more registrations than withdrawals this year. The superintendent said the ninth grade is currently the district’s largest class with about 345 students, while kindergarten is the smallest at about 258.
Raza said the district will bring an 'innovation plan' to next month’s meeting as part of district goals to expand course offerings, including entrepreneurship, engineering and computer science at the high school and new middle‑school options. He also announced staffing changes: Mike Joyce started that day as an assistant principal at the high school, and Chelsea Martini began as assistant director of special education.
