Riverview board approves new auditorium curtain, Learn Well agreement, policies and personnel hires

The Riverview School District board approved several operational items during its Dec. 8 regular voting meeting, including a capital purchase for the auditorium, a services agreement, final policy readings and personnel appointments.

The board voted to purchase a new black Ovation stage curtain from Pittsburgh Stage Incorporated for $5,195 after administration noted the district’s existing curtain is deteriorating and a replacement would use longer-lived material. A board member framed the purchase as likely cost-effective over time given longevity compared with repeated repairs.

The board approved a letter of agreement with Learn Well Education to provide educational services at the Mercy Child and Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program. The motion was made and approved by voice vote.

On governance, the board adopted multiple policy revisions following third and final readings across several policy sections (100, 200, 600, 800 and 900 sections). Board members publicly commended the policy committee and administration for extensive background work.

Personnel items approved included hiring Daniel Radzinski as a full-time computer technician in the IT department, effective Dec. 9, 2025, with a 60-working-day probationary period and pending certification and health-clearance requirements, approval of a sabbatical for employment ID 8409 for part of the 2025–26 school year, and the appointment of several substitute employees and event workers pending required clearances.

All contract, policy and personnel motions were presented as administration recommendations and passed by the votes recorded in the meeting minutes. The board also authorized the board president, secretary and treasurer to sign checks and manage required signature card changes for district bank accounts.
