Council members appealed for volunteers to help replace warped bleacher seats and staff gates for an upcoming rodeo and discussed using community‑service workers for the work.
Committee member (S6) said the city will need volunteers to replace bleacher seats and help with gates for three nights of rodeo (noted dates discussed: July 3–5). Staff (S2) said community‑service workers ordered by the justice court can be assigned to municipal projects and offered to serve as a contact to coordinate assignments, noting he typically directs such workers to local projects when appropriate: "Typically, they just end up getting directed to, like, the food bank. But if you guys have got projects, yes, they can do community service for a governmental entity."
Members also discussed memorial fundraising boxes and using Venmo as an alternative to cash in boxes; the American Legion and volunteers will coordinate public messaging and box placement. No formal votes were taken; members agreed to organize dates and volunteers and to coordinate community‑service assignments through staff.
