Board approves pay application and moves forward on stadium work and sound-system bids

Todd Ginger of the Lewis Group updated the board on David Crockett construction: water and sewer connections are in place, sheetrock and roofing are largely complete, painters are scheduled and ovens for culinary spaces were being installed. He explained a minor survey discrepancy at an entrance was resolved by adding an ADA-compliant ramp and revised sidewalk rather than removing existing asphalt. "Water and sewer are done already at Crockett," Ginger said while reviewing site photos.
The board also authorized release of formal bids for stadium sound systems for Daniel Boone and David Crockett High Schools, allowing the Executive Committee (the chair and one other member) to review bids and award the contract to the best-qualified, lowest bidder. Staff set a bid opening on August 16 and a target date of August 23 — the first home game — for basic sound functionality; bid responses can include exceptions if vendors cannot meet that date.
Separately, the board approved several purchase orders for school nutrition equipment and exam fees, and approved acquisition of a replacement 2024 Ford Transit van for nutrition services after confirmed price and mileage comparisons with alternative vehicles.
Next steps: staff will process the pay application payment, work with the Executive Committee to review sound-system bids, and continue phased punch-list work to ensure functionality for scheduled games.
