Board names middle-school forest 'Dixon Forest' to honor longtime teacher Dee Dixon

Dr. Amidzic said the ad hoc committee that met in July recommended naming the school forest adjacent to the middle school in Dee Dixon’s honor. The board moved to approve the commemoration as agenda item 3.2, the motion was seconded and passed by roll call. The chair noted the honoree’s daughter was listening and invited the community to a celebration of life this Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Greendale barn off Loomis Road, where the naming will be announced.
Board members thanked committee participants and signaled staff will follow up on signage and memorial arrangements as part of future agenda items.
