Kellogg Foundation grants and braided ESSER funds. "Great things continue to happen at Battle Creek Public School, and one of them is offering the before and after school care service by the YMCA at Fremont International Academy," she said.
Trustees moved and seconded the contract approval; the motion carried. Separately, trustees approved a sixth‑grade adventure day camp at the Outdoor Education Center with a funding allocation of $62,000 drawn from the Battle Creek Public School Educational Foundation (BCPSEF) and the Wheeler Trust. The motion to approve the day camp passed by voice vote.
The board also approved a short eScholarship software renewal referenced by Harvey (approximately $17,000) used to track Bearkat Advantage scholarship eligibility and student progress; the software renewal will be paid from the technology department's subscription grant.
Next steps: staff will finalize the contract documents and implement the programs according to the approved funding sources.
