Greendale board approves series of special-event permits and temporary alcohol licenses

Explorian Brewpub’s fifth annual Burn Pit BBQ Backyard (08/31/2025) was approved after the public celebrations committee and staff recommended it with no conditions. The Greendale Entertainment Association’s Save the Music fundraiser (09/05/2025), proposed as a make-up event after flooding at Village Days, was approved and staff agreed to assist with street closures at an estimated staff cost of about $300. The board also approved a temporary Class B fermented malt beverage license for the GEA gazebo concert tied to that event.
The Greendale Public Library Foundation’s Whodunit Mystery Night (10/11/2025), a ticketed, 21-and-over indoor fundraiser with a $50 admission, was approved; the board also granted a temporary extension of premises for alcohol service for the event and a separate extension for the Eleanor Room that same evening. Trustees highlighted community support, volunteer organizing and some sponsor contributions; one organizer noted donations of food from local businesses to help offset losses incurred during flooding.
Board approvals were done by motion and roll-call votes with staff confirming event safety plans, street-closure locations and coordination among organizers and public works.
