The treasurer told the committee the mental‑health lease covers 24 months rather than 12 and that a resolution for 2026 had been handled previously; the $35,414.76 amendment records the 2027 portion of the lease under GASB 87. The committee voted to amend the budget unanimously.
Later, the treasurer explained that the county assumed responsibility for the Industrial Park Sewer Fund in 2026 and that the fund’s 2026 budget was about $26,000. The county received an invoice from Washington County Sewer District No. 1 for $40,258.50, which exceeded the budget; the treasurer asked to appropriate an additional $14,258.50 from the GI fund balance to pay the bill. Committee members discussed the possibility that reconstruction work made this year's bill higher than normal; the treasurer said the bill should be lower next year. The committee approved the appropriation unanimously.
Both votes were recorded as unanimous voice votes. The treasurer said staff will continue coordinating with property stakeholders and adjust future budgets to avoid surprises.
