Warren County update: Two Nextamp solar sites near completion but await utility interconnection

Adrios, a Public Works staff member introduced in the meeting record, said both sites are “basically 90% complete,” with remaining civil work and electrical connections needed to tie the systems into the grid. “The audit from National Grid was conducted in late January or February, which should take now 1 to 3 months,” Adrios said.
Financials and lease terms: Adrios estimated the county will receive about $65,000 per site annually — roughly $130,000 total once both are online — and said the developer currently pays a small monthly amount while construction continues. He also referenced a roughly 20-year lease term with annual increases he estimated at about 2–3 percent and said the developer will be responsible for decommissioning after the lease ends.
Why it matters: the installations will generate revenue for the county and shift power sourcing, but the county’s ability to realize that revenue depends on the utility interconnection process controlled by National Grid. Committee members did not set new directions at the meeting; staff reported status and projected revenue.
Next steps: staff will monitor National Grid’s audit and return to the committee with updates when interconnection is confirmed and bids or contracts are finalized.
