Summary
Board staff reported that the Connect WDO reporting system (launched Nov. 18, 2025) has processed more than 180,000 activities and that online renewals for roughly 8,800 licensees will move into Connect for the June 30, 2026 cycle, reducing renewal processing from weeks to 24–48 hours.
The Structural Pest Control Board and Department of Consumer Affairs staff reported on Feb. 25 that the Connect WDO reporting system launched on Nov. 18, 2025 and has processed more than 180,000 reported activities and 732 credit-card transactions since going live.
Assistant Executive Officer Melissa Zaneta told the board that user feedback has been positive and that the next major modernization step is to move license renewals into Connect for the 06/30/2026 renewal cycle, covering roughly 8,800 renewals. Zaneta said online renewals should cut processing time markedly — from multiple weeks in some cases to an expected 24–48 hours for routine renewals — and will allow licensees to upload continuing‑education certificates, attest to hours, and pay online.
Staff described outreach plans to prepare licensees: targeted emails and company notifications have begun, and the board will send two postcard mailings to licensees in April–May ahead of the renewal window. Zaneta and other staff said companies and individual licensees will receive guidance on account creation and linking licenses; outreach will include user guides and help during the first renewal cycle.
The board also said it will continue to add enhancements to Connect over time. Staff noted that some desired functionality — for example, automated CE roster collection and certificate validation — may require additional contracting and funding; they are evaluating what Connect can support now versus later development.
License-application and exam modernization work also continues. Staff discussed exploring additional language options for exams to improve accessibility and are reviewing passing-score methodology and exam-content updates. In licensing statistics presented to the board, satisfaction with licensing services was high (about 93 percent satisfied in a recent survey covering July–December 2025).
