The board paused regular business to recognize students for winter and spring activities. Coaches and activity sponsors presented honors for academics and athletics, including individual academic all-conference honorees and team academic awards.
A coach listed students who met 3.5 GPA or higher and named the team’s academic distinctions: “These are individuals that were 3.5 GPA or higher. That was Jordan Crossman, Emma Mormon, Lily Forrest Ferguson, Sophia Mormon, Riley Ferreira, Aubrey Leonard, Sawyer Curry, Anna Wilson, Chloe Curran, Meleda Wilson,” the coach said, and noted the team’s combined GPA qualified them for distinguished academic achievement.
Other staff recognized wrestling and cheer accomplishments and noted state qualifiers in speech and short film. The district took a photo of award recipients before they left the meeting.
Why it matters: the recognitions highlight student academic performance and extracurricular success; the board publicly acknowledged these achievements as part of community engagement and student morale.
