The Ogden Community School District board took formal action on multiple routine items during Monday’s meeting, approving all four motions presented by administration.
Allowable growth: The board approved a motion authorizing submission of a request for $1,533.33 in allowable growth to cover a small special‑education deficit. Administration described the deficit and explained the allowable‑growth process before the vote.
SBO sharing agreement: Trustees approved a one‑day‑per‑week operational sharing agreement that will provide United Community School with a trained school business official. Administration said the arrangement is intended to be revenue‑neutral and included a proposed sunset date of June 30; the contract included $11,200 in compensation for the district’s additional work.
Snow‑removal contract: Following a competitive process with three responsive bids, the administration recommended awarding the 2024–25 snow‑removal work to Miller Industries (hourly contract). The board approved the low bid after discussion about equipment differences and hourly vs. flat‑rate approaches.
Textile recycling pilot: Trustees approved a pilot with Green Bins LLC to site a sensor‑monitored clothing/textile recycling container at the elementary campus; the vendor will collect materials when sensors indicate fullness and remit a small per‑pound payment that administration said will be earmarked for elementary use.
All four motions passed by roll call with affirmative votes recorded for: Bergstrom, Merritt, Taylor, Thompson, Van Sickle and Barrett. The board took no motions to table or amend these items. Administration will file the allowable‑growth paperwork and proceed with contract execution and vendor placement as described.
