Board approves policies, permits and fundraisers; tables 3D scanning proposal

The Greene County Board of Education cleared several routine items and took a few discrete actions before adjourning.
By voice vote and roll call the board approved the meeting agenda and consent items, accepted the financial audit highlights for information, and accepted the treasurer's report. Chair moved to approve a slate of student minor restricted licenses (school permits) for a list of students who had appeared earlier and the motion passed; attendees were invited to bring paperwork forward for signatures.
Trustees debated a fundraiser form change to capture prior-year proceeds and voted to approve the listed fundraisers. The board also approved first readings for policy 207.2 (review and revision of policy) and 207.3 (adoption of policy) and approved routine board policies in the 800 series.
On facilities planning, the board discussed a DLR Group proposal for a districtwide 3D laser scan (quoted cost $28,500) to create interactive 3D models of all rooms for long-term maintenance, capital planning and potential insurance uses. Maintenance staff and several trustees questioned the value relative to cost and whether local contractors would accept the scans in lieu of re-measurement. The board agreed to table that proposal and requested additional information and maintenance-staff review.
The board approved an FFA out-of-state travel request and then adjourned the meeting.
