Board adopts new strategic-priorities graphic and approves several policy second readings

The Greene County Comm School District board approved a revised strategic-priorities graphic and adopted multiple policy changes at its meeting.
During old business, the superintendent (speaker 2) described a revised graphic that replaces a generic "collaborative culture" with language promoting "a positive culture grounded in growth, collaboration and school pride." A board member moved to approve the graphic and the board voted in favor.
In governance items, the board took a second reading and approved policy 207.2, which implements an ISB recommendation to change routine policy review intervals from three years to five years and clarifies that minor legal or stylistic changes may be handled in a single meeting at the board’s discretion. The board also approved a second reading of policy 207.3, effectively a title change to "adoption policy" without substantive content changes.
Later in the meeting the board reviewed policy numbers in the 803.1 through 804.7 range and discussed operational items including a radon-detection requirement that will apply to all three district buildings starting in 2025; if elevated radon levels are found the district may need to install mitigation systems. A motion to approve the reviewed policies was seconded and passed by roll call.
Board members thanked staff for condensing the policy language and for administrators’ work on facilities planning.
