Murray County finance staff presented a month‑end snapshot showing revenues and expenditures largely in line with last year and a surplus after February payroll adjustments.
S6 summarized slot‑deposit trends and operating results: recent monthly deposits rose (examples given in meeting materials: roughly $548,000 in an earlier February, $663,000 in Feb. ’24, and $842,000 in Feb. ’25), which staff said improved the district’s position toward an overall $25.5 million target for the program. S6 said the district is at about $18.2 million toward that target.
For January results presented in the packet, S6 said the district showed about $48 million in revenues and about $45 million in expenditures; with accruals the packet showed around a $2.7 million surplus, and after February payroll adjustments the available surplus was roughly $2.4 million. S6 also reported interest income of $511,503.78 collected to date. “This very next page shows you the report ... I pulled the report as of February 28,” S6 said.
The board moved to approve the financial statements as presented and the motion carried. Later in the meeting the board considered purchase orders related to construction and equipment: replacing a planned hanging scoreboard with a wall-mounted video board (presented as a lower-cost option at about $37,000 versus an earlier planned ~$78,000 item), wood lockers that reduced cost compared with budgeted metal lockers, and other gym/construction items taken from the construction fund and contingency.
S6 said bond dollars and construction funds would pay much of the stadium/locker/video-board work; when bond funds are exhausted the district will use other capital funds. The board approved the presented purchase orders and the related motions were seconded and carried.
Next steps: finance staff will continue monthly updates with a February-to-date packet, monitor deposits and interest, and return any larger contract items for further board approval as needed.
