Jackson County Schools to replace Remind with ParentSquare for family communications

District communications staff detailed a quick rollout of ParentSquare to replace Remind, staff training during pre-planning, and parent resources and a signup process linked to the Infinite Campus parent portal and open-house events.
District communications staff told the board the district will move its family-communication platform from Remind to ParentSquare following ParentSquare’s acquisition of Remind and staff evaluation of the combined platform.
Mr. Hooper said ParentSquare offers a feed-style interface, easier toggling between multiple students and expanded group and club features. Staff directories will be populated nightly so parents can email teachers directly from the platform, he said.
The district began staff training in July, with media specialists piloting the platform; staff will finish training during pre-planning. Families will be invited to sign up during open house beginning July 29 (middle/high) and July 30 (elementary), and the district has posted resources, how-to videos and FAQs on the district website.
Hooper said the district sent a message through Infinite Campus today urging families to confirm contact information in the parent portal so they receive ParentSquare messages. He named staff who led the work (Martha Wilson, Brett Irvin, Tracy Koffke and Sierra Roberts) and said the communications office earned four awards this year from the National School Public Relations Association.
