Greene County school board lauded for clean FY2023 audit; district earns award of distinction
Summary
An auditor for the State Department of Arts told the Greene County school board the district met all seven award criteria and received a clean FY2023 audit opinion for the seventh consecutive year; the board recognized the finance team on the award.
Luke Edwards, the auditor in charge for the State Department of Arts, told the Greene County school board the district met all seven award criteria and received a clean opinion on its FY2023 financial audit. "All of those criteria were met," Edwards said, thanking the district finance staff for cooperating with auditors.
The award of distinction recognizes timeliness of statements, quality of financial reporting, documentation, timely resolution of issues, staff availability and two additional criteria related to internal controls and an overall clean opinion. Edwards said the district satisfied those standards "for the seventh year in a row," and expressed appreciation for the finance team's work.
Board members congratulated staff on the result. The recognition was presented during the information and discussion portion of the agenda and was followed by other routine agenda items.
