The Ben Hill County Board of Education approved its executive-session minutes and accepted a slate of personnel recommendations and a retirement during its meeting.
The superintendent read recommended hires including Melissa Gil (primary paraprofessional), Jasmine Fuller (BHES child nutrition worker), Kennedy Anderson (transportation bus monitor), Timothy Prather (transportation substitute bus driver), DeMario Johnson (transportation bus driver), Sylvia Jackson (FHSCCA paraprofessional) and Shanna Thompson (FHSCCA gymnastics community code). A board member moved to accept the superintendent's recommendations and the board approved them by voice vote.
The superintendent also announced resignations for Trina Johnson and James Johnson (transportation bus drivers) and Rodney Cheney (preschool paraprofessional), and reported the retirement of Janice Trimble from the transportation department. The board moved to accept the retirement and approved it by voice vote.
Separately, the Chair asked whether 'Andy' should sign the executive-session minutes after their approval. No further administrative items were raised and the meeting moved on to the interim superintendent nominations.
