Board names Sarah Roberts assistant principal and approves multiple personnel actions

At its July 22 meeting the Brown County School Corporation approved several personnel actions, most notably appointing Sarah Roberts as assistant principal at Brown County High School.
The superintendent pulled one item from the consent agenda to recommend Sarah Roberts for the assistant-principal position (220-day contract, $92,000, full time with benefits, effective July 23, 2024). The board moved, seconded and approved the appointment by roll call. Sarah Roberts addressed the board, saying she was “very humbled by the community support” and expressed eagerness to begin working with students and staff.
The board also approved an amended hire date for Carly Croft at Helmsburg Elementary (new hire date July 9, 2024) to allow participation in summer training, and the appointment of Grace Lee as a teacher at Ambuuren (transcript spelling) Elementary School (bachelor’s degree, $42,250, 184 days, effective Aug. 5, 2024).
Extracurricular positions for William Buren Elementary were approved for 2024–25 (coaches and activity supervisors for robotics, science/technology and other student opportunities). The board also granted adjunct-teaching permits for Cheyenne Dinsmore and John Elmore for the coming school year; the superintendent noted continuity with prior assignments.
All personnel recommendations were approved by roll call with no recorded opposition. The superintendent indicated the district would notify appointees and update personnel records.
