Superintendent Dr. Beresford used his report to highlight facility work and student accomplishments across the district.
Dr. Beresford said Cherry Tree is under construction and that the first group of students has already moved into the newly renovated portion of the building. He named principal Peter English and assistant principal Amanda Billman and praised staff and families for their role during the transition. "Some pretty great things going on at Cherry Tree," he said, noting the renovation staggered student moves as spaces became available.
He also recounted attending show choir performances and the Taste of Carmel event, and praised the Carmel Education Foundation for funding supplemental programs such as BizTown. Dr. Beresford closed by celebrating the boys swimming team’s state championship, saying the team won its 11th consecutive title and featured a near-maximum roster at the state meet.
The superintendent’s remarks were presented as information; no formal action followed from the update.
