At its July 15 meeting, the Whitko Community School Corp board accepted two donations and approved several routine administrative items.
Superintendent Dr. Eddington announced a $12,860 gift from the AD20 Foundation Trust for the Whitko robotics team and a $1,500 donation from the Hands Foundation for the district’s FFA chapter. “So, two great donations,” Dr. Eddington said.
The board approved the consent agenda and business reports by voice vote. Trustees also approved an extra-day pay recommendation for the district athletic director (identified in the meeting as Barry Singray) and approved book rental and consumable fees for the junior–senior high and Whitko Elementary School.
The board conducted first readings of several policies, including rules on personal communication devices and attendance, and set second and final readings for the August regular meeting. Board members were also told that an August session will include discussion about starting the superintendent search; staff said a session with Mr. Snotty will be part of that meeting.
Administrative reminders included how state book-rental funding and device fees work, upcoming community events and the August work session and regular meeting dates. The board moved, seconded and approved field trips as presented and adjourned the meeting.
Next meeting: regular board meeting Monday, Aug. 19 at 06:30.
