Superintendent (speaker 4) said he received the letter in September and recommended waiting until the board meeting before moving forward; with the bond sale coming in mid-November, he said the district is positioned to proceed to the next steps. Board members discussed timing: a board member (speaker 5) identified March as the installation target and asked whether boilers that are not currently working could be removed earlier. MCOR work will remove four boilers, require roof work and the stack removal will be scheduled after school is out for safety reasons.
The board moved, seconded and approved the letter of intent by voice vote. The superintendent and operations staff indicated they would continue to coordinate project scheduling and logistics with MCOR and with the Building Corporation as procurement and bid assignments proceed.
