During both public-comment periods at the Vigo County School Corporation meeting, residents raised policy and classroom concerns and requested follow-up from district leaders.
Debbie Constantine asked where to find the board’s whistleblower (A175) complaint form and whether a board member’s supervisor is defined in policy; she also asked the board to consider hyperlinks in policy documents to make forms easier to find, raised apparent inconsistencies between school websites and board policy (example: bicycle permitting), and suggested holding some meetings after 5 p.m. to improve public participation. President Lohr and other board members said staff would follow up with her and review the noted inconsistencies.
Later in the meeting, resident Bill Henry displayed or described classroom photos he said showed promotional materials for gay-pride, GSA and Black Lives Matter groups and called for consistent restrictions on non‑instructional 'agenda' displays. "Our schools should be a place where kids come to be educated, not indoctrinated," Henry said, asking the board either to allow all groups equal display rights or remove such materials entirely. Board members offered to speak with him after the meeting and to follow established procedures for reviewing classroom concerns; no immediate policy action was taken.
The board thanked citizens for commenting and said staff would follow up where policy clarification or operational changes were needed.
