Walker Career Center renovation nears completion; modern labs, print shop refreshed

A presenter on-site said the graphic design lab is “almost done,” with new cabinets, countertops and computer lines being installed and a dark room nearing completion. “This room is almost done. We’re excited about it,” the presenter said, describing new workstations and planned computer infrastructure.
The fashion lab received new sewing tables, storage and cabinetry, and staff said the expanded print shop—used for much of the township’s printing—got updated lighting, ceiling and paint. Program staff also noted that an old classroom was repurposed to expand lab space for industrial equipment, and that changes to window placement will allow large equipment to roll into the space for culinary or fabrication work.
District presenters said the Career Center renovatons are timed to bring students back after spring break and to support career-technical pathways. No formal board action or budget vote was shown in the segment.
